EuroCrie Best Paper Award for Mr de Jongh

-November 2008-At the 2008 EuroChrie Conference in Dubai hosted by The Emirates Academy Of Hospitality Management, Mr de Jongh was awarded.

he has won the prize for the best publication in the section of Information Management for his article, written in cooperation with dr Hilary Murphy form the Hotelschool Lausanne, entitled: 'Student perceptions of it/is subject learning in hospitality management degree programmes- a comparitive study of "deep learning".

The aim of the research was to establish whether differences in the learning environment would have an effect on learning outcomes by focusing on several of the critical constructs of the learning environment i.e. teaching methods, feedback, assessment, workload, subject embedded in other disciplines or offered explicity, student autonomy and deep learning.
