Professional and Academic Experience
Dr. Jean-Pierre van der Rest is Professor at Hotelschool The Hague. He is also the Director for the research Centre, and was previously Head of Department. He received a PhD in Business from Oxford Brookes University (UK), a MA in Managerial Economics from the University of Durham (UK), and a BBA in Hotel Administration from the Maastricht Hotel Management School (NL). He was on the faculty of Leiden University, before moving to The Hague. Dr. Van der Rest has been external examiner, external advisor, and visiting professor at various international business schools. His professional experience includes managerial work in Food & Beverage Management. Dr. Van der Rest has co-authored textbooks, contributed to various international texts, and has published many articles in professional and academic journals.
Research Interests
Jean-Pierre is an international expert in analytical pricing models, forecasting, pricing strategy/methods, and the organisational capabilities & implementation of pricing decision-making.
