Skotel, the Training and Study Hotel of the Hotelschool, is a hotel complex where first-year students live and work and where guests are welcome in the hotel rooms. The students live in ‘residential units’ of the Skotel and share a room with another student.

During their stay at the Skotel the students learn how to socially and cross-culturally interact with other people, while improving their personal skills and develop themselves in many different ways.  Because of their personal growth, as well as their ability to excel in teams, they are a step ahead of a very important and essential part of their future career as manager in the hospitality industry.

 

Moreover, the students work at the reception and in housekeeping in the Skotel and this provides valuable practical experience in Rooms Division. New students following practicals perform the basic skills, while the more senior students fulfil the leadership role and actually manage the practical students under the supervision of an instructor of the school. The Skotel is, in The Hague as well as in Amsterdam, within walking distance of the main building.
