Why did you choose Hotelschool The Hague?

I wanted to study something that I could see the world with. What better studies are there than Hotel management or Tourism? Hotelschool The Hague offered a distinctive curriculum and supports the independence of its students. In order to follow an international study that challenges me on a practical and theoretical level, I chose Hotelschool The Hague. The school educates you on a wide spectrum of subjects such as marketing, finance, languages, or management skills.

 

What experiences/knowledge did you acquire during the internship period?

I completed my first internship in the Hilton Diagonal in Barcelona, where I worked as a waitress in the Food and Beverage department. I found it most interesting to see the difference between the two worlds in a hotel: the guest’s glamorous and sparkling world and the world of the ‘back of the house’. I learned that working in hospitality is very demanding, often exhausting and physically as well as mentally hard work. Nevertheless, it is also a very rewarding work, when a guest returns a smile and you know you have just made somebody’s day.
