Renovation of Campus The Hague has officially started!
Renovation Campus The Hague of Hotelschool The Hague has officially started!
Development of a sustainable and distinctive new campus
On 2 July, after two years of careful preparation, the renovation of our prominent school building in The Hague commences. With the breaking down of an old wall, the Board of Directors, Regine von Stieglitz and Arend Hardorff launch the official start of a major renovation.
“By developing a new campus for our students, colleagues, and guests, we prepare ourselves for the requirements of future education and hospitality," President of the Board of Directors Regine Von Stieglitz states.
“In the course of time, the campus has become outdated and clearly society, including education, has changed significantly. The renovation is a logical next step towards a sustainable, safe and distinctive campus, set for the future. Where possible, sustainable construction is being applied. A fine example is the ceiling of recycled pet bottles. And also, our chairs from the auditorium will be re-coated in a sheltered workshop. With this transformation into an open and bright design of the interior, students and colleagues are given the opportunity to meet one another in a modern environment where innovative education is being offered."
Availability of the premises and outlets
The campus building at the Brusselselaan will be closed until the summer of 2021; then, the total renovation of The Hague campus will be finalised. However, as of September, students and employees can already use the two side parts of the building (‘The Wings’). The renovation work starts with these parts of the building and is expected to be completed before the start of the Academic Year 2020-2021. The restaurants will be open after summer for practical education and thus for external visitors. Some of the employees and students will temporarily move to the Skotel Building (Zwolsestraat 189), a 10-minute walk from the Brusselselaan.
