Redesign of the Van der Valk room in Skotel The Hague

Hotelschool The Hague students are being prepared for a career in the hotel and hospitality industry at Skotel, its training and study hotel.

On their first year, students live and work at Skotel where they develop practical skills within a real hotel learning environment, such as the reception and housekeeping.

When the school celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2005, the 21 hotel rooms were renovated. Well-known hotel chains have a room sponsored and furnished in Skotel, replicating a room of their own hotels. Recently, the Van der Valk room was renovated by the Van der Valk family.

"The Van der Valk hotels are regularly renewed, so now it was our room's turn. The previous room by Van der Valk in Skotel was decorated in 2005, so it was time for a complete update as we want to offer our guests and students a great experience! Van der Valk Design designed everything. We didn't know what it would look like beforehand, but we are all happily surprised. It is a modern and comfortable room, as in the newest Van der Valk hotels,” says Sjaak Smit, manager of Skotel.
