Best of 2020 #1 - New HTH minor programme

This year, Hotelschool The Hague offered Year 4 students the option to choose between three new minors. The Future of Food, The Future of Work, and The Future of Business. The minor programme prepares students for the continuous change within companies and helps them acquire crucial skills needed for becoming a future leader in hospitality. Students tackle issues that keep the industry awake at night, both individually and as part of agile project management teams. Over 140 students participated in the new programme. In 2021, we will introduce the Future of Guest.  We appreciate all the work and efforts from students, colleagues and industry partners.

Best of 2020 #2 - The Industry PRO-ject

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a group of 150 students had to leave their placement or, in some cases, could not even start their work experience. However, there was a silver lining on the horizon. The HTH placement office collaborated with industry partners and alumni, and came up with an innovative idea to turn the situation into a beneficial experience; The Industry PRO-ject.

Best of 2020 #3 - Renovation of campus The Hague

In 2020, the renovation of our campus in The Hague officially started! Ms. von Stieglitz and Mr. Hardorff launched the major renovation by breaking down an old wall. This renovation is the next step towards a sustainable, innovative and unique new campus set for the future.

Best of 2020 #4 - Graduations

Another great success is the significant number of students that successfully graduated in 2020. Over 400 students were able to turn this adverse situation into an opportunity to stay focused and graduate. This would not have been possible without the help and support from the LYCar faculty (Launch Your Career), who shifted the defenses into an online format. The HTH Study success programme motivated students with study delay who wished to graduate. We are also excited about the entertaining online graduation ceremony hosted in the end of November, with graduates from all around the world. Congrats to all and best of luck!!

Best of 2020 #5 - HTH Pre-master programme

Hotelschool The Hague’s premaster programme aims to prepare students who choose to continue their studies with a MSc in Business Administration. In 2019 we introduced a collaboration with the Amsterdam Business School (ABS) of the University of Amsterdam (UVA). We are extremely proud to announce that as of 2021, our premaster programme will offer students direct access to MSc master programmes of the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) and the Nyenrode Business Universiteit.

Best of 2020 #6 - HRM Learning Community

Human Resources Management is identified as one of the most challenging subjects in hospitality. In 2020, HTH launched the HRM Learning Community. This is not just another networking community; it is a worldwide co-creative community involving students, alumni, industry partners, lecturers and researchers who are meeting quarterly. The HRM Learning Community represents a change for the traditional educational approach: from a classroom activity to an interactive community where education is developed based on the needs of the industry.
