General Function Description

As a Service Desk Employee, you are the first contact point for student and employee questions at our service desk on campus. You are also the first point of contact for external parties such as; prospects, parents, schools, companies and alumni). The service desk employee answers 1st and 2nd line complex request either face to face, via phone, e-mail or through our on-line platform. The service desk also delivers the correct procedures or information. Other requests are passed on to the department concerned, and are monitored on correct follow-up and completion.

Position in the organisation

In this position you will be working in a team of 4 service desk employees divided over both our campuses in The Hague and Amsterdam. The Service Desk Employees report to the ICT Manager.

  • A Bachelor (HBO) level;
  • Between 3-5 years of work experience in a similar (help-/servicedesk) position, preferably within education or a hospitality focused organization;
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written in English and Dutch
  • Able to find solutions to complex requests;
  • Strives for quality and service;
  • Able to deal with complex (emotional) situations of customers/students;
  • Can work according to set procedures;
  • You are accurate with attention to detail;
  • Is able to make analytical analysis;
  • Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office and Topdesk;
  • A Self-starter and team-worker who is able to work in an ad-hoc environment;


Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary based on scale 7 with a range between € 2.273,10 and € 3.077,54 depending on your professional experience and qualifications.

Additional information

Hotelschool The Hague works with a 40-hour work week, the working days for this position are Monday-Friday. The starting date for this position is as soon as possible, for a fixed period of 1 year, after which an extension is possible. We are looking for someone who is willing to work four days a week.

This position is placed at our campus in The Hague, however you must be flexible to work on our campus in Amsterdam if required.

An English language proficiency test may will be part of the selection procedure. Upon receiving an offer, a certificate of conduct (VOG) is required.
