David Daane-Boiler
Of 1941 vintage, he bade goodbye to Hotelschool The Hague when he retired in 2007.
He joined his alma mater in 1982 as lecturer Hotel Management and as such also responsible for the practical education in this field.
As a bonus he was put in charge of the Skotel too. Which as then located in the school itself, later to be moved via a number of temporary solutions to the current location.
During his career with the school he wrote the following books:

Front Office Management (SVH)
Safety & Security (HTH)
When he joined the school he was seen as a very modern man, since he introduced the telex to the front office.
He introduced the subject of Safety & Security into the curriculum as well as Social Hygiene. Also yield management as part of Operations Management.
Was mission leader of a team of HTH to the Republic of Mongolia to introduce new insights to the state-run hotels in that country.
Was part of a combined team of Queen Margaret College, Edinburgh and Dublin Institute of Technology that trained staff of Western University in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Followed Cornell University’s Summer Course twice and was HTH’s representative at the yearly CHRIE in the US.
Before joining HTH he was managing the famous Hotel van der Werff on the island of Schiermonnikoog, where he successfully modernized the hotel whilst keeping the original décor and atmosphere intact.
Before that he was RD Manager at the Dubai International from pre-opening to full operations. At the time when there were only three international hotels, unpaved roads in the town and wild dogs and camels roaming the hotel grounds.
During 1976 and 1978 he was RD Manager of Hotel Cocagne, getting his first taste of carnaval.
Dar es Salaam in Tanzania 1973 – 1976 was when he was part of a team that restarted the Tanzania Hotel Training School, a technical assistance project by the Netherlands Government.
1966 – 1973 first F.O. Mgr of the Rotterdam Hilton, thereafter appointed to the first Training Mgr for Hilton International in Northern Europe.
