Emmy Stoel
Over the past five years, I had the privilege of leading operations as General Manager at Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam, one of the Netherlands’ most prestigious hotels. In this role, I focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences while simultaneously driving business growth and implementing various sustainable initiatives.
Prior to joining Sofitel Legend, I served as General Manager at Hotel Okura Amsterdam from 2013 to 2018, where I successfully led the team in providing world-class hospitality. My journey at Hotel Okura began much earlier, during which I held several senior leadership roles, including Acting General Manager and Deputy General Manager. These experiences were instrumental in shaping my management style and deepening my expertise in luxury hospitality.
In addition to my roles in Amsterdam, I held the position of Director of Business Development and Operations at Hilton Hotels & Resorts from 2001 to 2008 across key cities such as Frankfurt, Vienna, Brussels, and Schiphol.
Most recently, I earned my Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Change Management from NCOI Opleidingen, gaining valuable insights into strategic leadership and organizational transformation. Before this, I completed a Supervisory Board program at Nyenrode Business University, further enhancing my governance and business operations expertise.
With over three decades of experience in the luxury hospitality industry, I am deeply committed to fostering operational excellence, advancing sustainable business practices, and delivering unmatched guest service. I am also an active member of the Supervisory Board of amsterdam&partners and the Taskforce MICE Amsterdam, where I contribute to the broader tourism and convention industries. Furthermore, I maintain strong connections with hospitality schools in the Netherlands, serving as a member of the industry boards at Hotelschool The Hague, Breda University of Applied Sciences, and Hotel Management School Maastricht.
