Philip Steiner
Philip Steiner is General Manager of Bankside Hotel London, part of the Marriott Autograph Collection, an art-focused hotel on the buzzing South Bank, where art, culture and travel collide. With a background in Hospitality Management from the International Hotelschool The Hague, Philip's journey encompasses roles at Rome Cavalieri, working with Hilton and Starwood hotels via the global Facility Management firm ISS Facility Services, and currently works for Cycas Hospitality. In addition to his General Manager role, Philip sits in Cycas’ Senior Operational Leadership Team and holds line management responsibilities for a lifestyle hotel in Paris and two five-star hotels, under development, in Ireland and Portugal.
Philip aims to blend his hospitality experience and passion for art and the culinary and cultural scenes across Europe to enhance his hotels strong links with the local community and artists – especially through Bankside’s Artist in Residence programme – to drive their continued success.
Philip is a fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and sits in the board of its London region and chairs a pillar of the Marriott Greater London Business Council, as the very first Franchisee. During his time in HTH Philip was instrumental in the transition of The Gentlemen’s Club from its initiation days into the new format it still holds until today and remains advisor to the current students and is the main point of contact between the Club and its Alumni.
