Roberto Payer
After his studies at Hotelschool the Hague, Roberto worked at Schiphol Airport Hilton, Hilton Amsterdam and Rome Cavalieri Hilton. Roberto Payer started his career with Hilton in Sales & Marketing. In 1989 he became General Manager of the Hilton Rotterdam and in November 1991 he returned to the Hilton Amsterdam as General Manager where he was responsible for the metamorphosis of the hotel between 1998 and 2000.
In October 2008 Roberto’s Restaurant was completely renovated and reopened in April 2009 and featuring signature dishes, according to Roberto Payer’s pure Italian taste.
In 2014 he successfully opened the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam and is now Cluster General Manager for both the Hilton Amsterdam and the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam.
Roberto Payer performs several functions in professional, cultural and social sectors.
Business wise and privately Roberto embraces and supports arts and culture by numerous hospitality events connected with the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Concertgebouw and Muziektheater (opera house). He is a.o. Member of the Advisory Board of the Stenden International School of Hospitality Management, member of the Advisory Board of TIO (College for Tourism and Hospitality), board member of ChocoA Foundation, Vice President of the Italian-Dutch Chamber of Commerce, ambassador of Ospitalitá Italiana (Italian restaurants); member of the Supervisory Board of Yarden, President Advisory Board PAN Amsterdam and within Hilton he is member of the board of Hilton International Nederland BV and Director of the Hotel Maatschappij Rotterdam BV.
Roberto Payer is valued for his opinions on professional issues as well as economic and lifestyle affairs and often performs as a key note speaker, special lecturer and as a guest in media programs.
