Dr. Jenny Sok is a social worker, sociologist, lecturer, coach, trainer and researcher.
Her aim is to help people flourish.
As a social worker, she was the manager of a facility for homeless people. After she finished her research master at the RuG (Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, The Netherlands), she worked for 6 years as an independent researcher for universities, municipalities and organisations, mainly researching social and HR-related issues.
She started working for Hotelschool The Hague in the year 2000. In the past she has been teaching research methods and change management in the bachelor, currently she is teaching leadership and management in the premaster, and mindfulness.
She gained her Ph.D. from Nyenrode Business Universiteit in 2006, with research on Work-Life Balance, which won an Emerald Literati Network Award.
Jenny’s research at HTH has evolved from work-life balance to female/feminine leadership, student well-being, mindful leadership, creativity & leadership, resilient leadership, (team) resilience and AQ (adversity quotient).
Together with other members of HTH’s Learning Community IQEQAQ she is focusing on the different competencies hospitality students should develop, working towards a ‘HTH Hospitality Quotient’.
