General

You will join a multidisciplinary team of professionals in a challenging but friendly environment. Department

The ICT department manages the corporate network (spread over 3 locations) for approximately 250 co-workers and 2600 students and consists of about 10 employees, of which 4 are responsible for the 1st line helpdesk. The other employees are responsible for network and system management, security, application management, workplace management, and project management. The ICT department is part of the general support departments within the cluster of the chairman of the Executive Board.

General function description

  • Supporting the 1st line helpdesk
  • Installing new hardware and/or software
  • Solving hardware and/or software problems and, as agreed, outsourcing major repairs via third parties, and assisting in their implementation
  • Assisting on functional management of the various company specific applications
  • Performing periodic maintenance on the equipment and infrastructure
  • Identifying structural problems, complaints and malfunctions
  • Initiating initiatives and making proposals to improve the effectiveness
  • Handling various first line reports regarding systems, devices, network, and applications
  • Assisting colleagues in solving malfunctions and problems, and calls in external expertise if necessary
  • Registering and classifying reports, monitoring progress, and making sure everything is in the system
  • Supporting (new) users
  • Providing instructions and software support
  • Managing and maintaining the documentation of systems and applications.

Candidate profile

You have/are:

  • You live in the Amsterdam area
  • A Bachelor degree or intermediate vocational education graduate (MBO-4 level) with professional and intellectual skills at Bachelor level
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience, preferably within the higher education institution
  • General theoretical, practice-oriented knowledge of automation, applications, databases and infrastructure
  • Insight into the organisation and working methods of the organisation
  • Skills in solving ICT problems
  • Solid ability to communicate with users;
  • Administrative, technical knowledge and understanding of the related organisational and functional relations;
  • Skills in the precision and accuracy of the administration;
  • Intercultural knowledge and skills;
  • Good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written;
  • A pro-active, hands-on approach and able to work independently;

Remuneration

Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary based on scale 6 the labour agreement of Universities of Applied Science (CAO HBO) with a range between € 2.122,91 and € 2.961,60 gross per month, depending on your professional experience and qualifications.

Additional information

Hotelschool The Hague works with a 40-hour workweek. The starting date for this position is as soon as possible depending on the notice period of the applicant.The work location for this position will be at our campus Amsterdam, but -if necessary- can be either Campus The Hague too.
