Legal Advisor
You are responsible for advising on complex legal issues, developing multi-year policy, guidelines and procedures in the area of interest and conducting legal proceedings.

You will join a multidisciplinary team of professionals in a challenging but friendly environment. General function description
- Handling complaints and objections as a secretary and preparing the content of the internal objection
- Coordination the financial support process for students and handling the applications for the Profileringsfond and Tuinemafonds
- Coordination the process of imposing sanctions and being responsible for its implementation and handling
- Managing the HTH legal protection box
- Participating in decision making in committees and formulating decisions
- Participating in complex projects to point out legal implications at an early stage.
- Coordination and relationmanagement with our external lawyer
- Carrying out less complex legal proceedings and/or appeals and, if necessary, engage our external lawyer
- Advising management and Board of Directors on legal issues and conducting negotiations on behalf of Management and Board of Directors
- Assessing policy proposals for legal feasibility in coordination with other policy areas
- Identifying risks, costs and benefits in legal proceedings and advising on this
- Assisting management in the implementation of legal issues
- Analysing legal consequences of internal and external developments and (changes in) laws and regulations and draws up advisory notes
- Testing internal and new policies, procedures, agreements, regulations, and guidelines against legal regulations and making proposals for policy adjustments
- Advising management with regarding to the development of policy and governance from the field of expertise
- Drawing up advice and proposing policy alternatives in the legal field
- Developing guidelines, procedures, and scenarios
- Providing information to employees about legal procedures
- Ensuring the internal and external coordination of legal decision making
Candidate profile
You have/are:
- Specialized in theoretical knowledge of legal procedures and laws and regulations
- Insight into organisation, process related and professional relationships in a broader context than one’s own area of interest
- Skills in analysing, interpreting, and drafting legal documents and advice
- Skills in drawing up advice notes and (policy) proposals
- Defence skills
- Excellent verbal and written command of both Dutch and English
Remuneration
Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary based on scale 11 the labour agreement of Universities of Applied Science (CAO HBO) with a range between €3.881,01 and € 5.332,49 gross per month, depending on your professional experience and qualifications.

Additional information
Hotelschool The Hague works with a 40-hour workweek. The starting date for this position is as soon as possible depending on the notice period of the applicant.
The work location for this position can be either our Campus in Amsterdam and/ or Campus The Hague.
