The Bachelor leadership actively participates to create and sustain an empowered professional work environment. The program managers support, facilitate, inspire and also monitor and guide their colleagues and teams to take full responsibility and ownership for their professional work within the boundaries and policies of the school. It is a leadership role with a result-oriented focus that contributes to the strategic objectives. It recognises the many interdependencies and acts jointly accordingly. The knowledge of how to run an educational 4-year Bachelor operation at a university of applied science goes hand in hand with encouraging empowerment. Working collaboratively is an essential element of the bachelor management team. 

General function description

The Program Manager Bachelor contributes to the strategic policy of the school and its educational vision and is jointly with colleagues Program Managers Bachelor responsible for the daily execution, the quality of education for our students and the operational results of the bachelor program. Responsibilities include facilitating the ongoing and continuous improvement of all bachelor courses. Responsibilities require having a holistic understanding of the overall program as there is a strong emphasis on collaboration within the team and staff.

Management of staff

  • Leading, guiding, and coaching a team of professionals
  • Keeping workload management in focus
  • Ensuring proper expertise to match the developing curriculum
  • Encourage the development and learning of each lecturer
  • Maintaining a strong link with HR for all personnel-related issues

Daily operations

  • Planning resources
  • Cooperating with support departments and connecting with students
  • Representing HTH on all levels within and outside the organisation
  • Creating a professional work environment that operates within the set boundaries of the strategy and policies of the school
  • Coordinating transparent communication to staff and students


  • Ensuring curriculum development to meet industry needs and societal change
  • Safeguarding quality through continuous improvement
  • Connecting practical and theoretical education
  • Creating a positive learning environment in which each student can reach their own potential
  • Establishing innovative and digital didactics

Strategy & goals

  • Translating institutional strategic objectives into clear measurable individual and team goals

  • Ensuring that everything done benefits the students and the quality of their education

Candidate profile

As a candidate you;

  • possess strong leadership and people management skills
  • feel comfortable working in close collaboration and making joint decisions within a team
  • demonstrate relevant management experience with large teams of approximately 30 FTE's in Dutch companies
  • exhibit analytical skills and conceptual thinking skills
  • have broad (theoretical) knowledge of educational and hospitality management
  • enjoy working in a close team environment
  • understand organisational / cultural sensitivity
  • act as a role model to staff and students alike
  • can easily adapt to change
  • can take quick decisions


Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary based on scale 13 the labour agreement of Universities of Applied Science (CAO HBO) with a range between € 4.955,73 - € 6.036,14 gross per month, depending on your professional experience and qualifications.

Hotelschool The Hague works with a 40-hour workweek. The starting date for this position is as soon as possible depending on the notice period of the applicant.
