Hospitality, Happiness and Care
In September 2016 dr. Angelique Lombarts started as Lector Hospitality, Happiness & Care. Main goal is to explore hospitality in healthcare and to improve both the patient and employee experience from a hospitality perspective.
More than ever there is the awareness has grown that healthcare is not solely determined by medical treatments. The non-medical aspects, metaphorically called ‘hospitality’, are as important as the medical ones. Moreover, growing numbers of chronically ill people, an aging population and related problems such as loneliness, as well as increasingly expensive healthcare costs, require the organisation of healthcare to be reconsidered. Therefore, a strong focus on the non-medical side of healthcare, with a focus on soft skills and entrepreneurship, can help healthcare organisations look at their major challenges differently.
