Selection Coordinator

You will be responsible for the successful organization and execution of all (10) Selection Days on designated Saturdays on campus location Amsterdam and The Hague.


You will join a multidisciplinary team of professionals in a challenging but friendly environment. General function description

As Selection Coordinator, you are responsible for the successful organization and execution of all (10) Selection Days on Saturdays at the Amsterdam and The Hague Campuses. (These will be reverted to online selection moments should a lockdown re-occur). Furthermore, you are responsible for the organization of the Online selection weeks during the month of January. You work closely with student ambassadors, student assistants and internal stakeholders and you are a member of the selection committee.

Much preparation will be done in Block A (start of Academic Year) and Block B. The selection season kicks off on the third Saturday of November and will continue (online in January) to return to campus as of February.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Report line: Manager Sales & Industry Relations

Selection days

  • Organize all selection days on campus and online selection days both in close cooperation with student assistants
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders i.e., F&B department, IT department, FO department to ensure smooth operations and with Admissions and Recruitment teams for pre- and post- follow up re candidates
  • Ensure first year student coverage on selection days to assist with operations
  • Work closely with student assistants and student ambassadors; providing them with tasks and responsibilities
  • Manage creation, updating and supplying of Selection Day Script (BEO & Selector Script)
  • Coordinate with Event Office and ensure rooms are booked / schedule is made accordingly
  • Develop new initiatives and strategies for the selection day
  • Develop F&B initiatives for selection days
  • Provide support on the day itself and manage students, alumni, and staff
  • Ensure a fair and transparent process is created to give each candidate equal opportunities to succeed
  • Ensure each candidate leaves with a positive impression of HTH
  • Ensure all candidate results are transferred to the Admissions department at the end of the days.


  • Assist with recruiting alumni selectors / retention of (new) selectors (student, alumni, and staff)
  • Scheduling of all selectors during selection days (online/on campus)
  • Manage selectors excel sheet / manage hours they have committed to the selection process
  • Communication to selectors when their selection days take place with student assistant
  • Maintain contact with all selectors and answer any questions regarding the day
  • Conduct selection day trainings / organize (mandatory) trainings with external parties (Quaiba Zeggen)
  • manage the expectations of all selectors / instructors and staff pre-, during- and post selection days.

Selection committee Member

  • Ensure that the decisions sheet, following selection day is checked with another member of the selection committee on correct procedures and well registered scores (Four eye principle) which will lead to approval of results of candidates participating in selection procedure.

  • Ensure all departments are aware of selection processes and be point of contact for instructors
  • Develop understanding of the selection process and make changes should situations require
  • Maintain contact with admissions department and answer and queries
  • Provide Selection Day training Zooms in coordination with recruitment department


Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary based on scale 8 the labour agreement of Universities of Applied Science (CAO HBO) with a range between € 2.756,90 and € 3.691,26 gross per month, depending on your professional experience and qualifications.

Additional information

Hotelschool The Hague works with a 40-hour workweek. A 0,5 fte willl mean 20 hours per week. The starting date for this position is as soon as possible depending on the notice period of the applicant.

The work location for this position can be either our Campus in Amsterdam and/ or Campus The Hague.  

An English language proficiency test may be part of the selection procedure. Upon receiving an offer, a certificate of conduct (VOG) is required.
