Launching Your Career (LYCar) - Experiencing the sector -30 ECs
15 weeks in company
Launching Your Career (LYCar) is a stepping stone to your future career and an accumulation of your previous and ongoing development. In this course you demonstrate that you are a critical and reflective learner who can contribute to the world as an Intercultural Hospitality Leader.
During LYCar you work in a company gaining real-world experience while taking ownership of your professional, social, and personal development. You have significant flexibility in shaping your LYCar journey. You design your own learning journey, aligned with your ambitions, professional interests, and career goals. Throughout the course, you demonstrate that you can work autonomously, deal with complexity, collaborate across cultures and disciplines, and create meaningful impact in practice.
This course culminates in one integrated end-product and a LYCar Event:
The LEAD Portfolio: an integrated portfolio in which you demonstrate your development. The portfolio includes an evidence-based professional product, critical reflection on your learning in practice, and a student-designed evaluation, including input from relevant stakeholders (360 evaluation). Through the LEAD Portfolio you show how you are launching your career and positioning yourself for your next professional step.
The LYCar Event: in which you demonstrate your learning journey and show how you take ownership of your continuous learning, while sharing and translating key life lessons into learning moments for peers.
