New food truck concept with a mission to drive change

We would like to introduce STREATS, Hotelschool The Hague’s newest addition to its food concepts! This brand-new food truck of HTH will travel the streets with rescued food and large ambitions. 

STREATS is the playground for our students who will be challenged to discover their innovative and creative side. How? By coming up with new food concepts and menus, and hosting events where these skills will be put into practice. The majority of the dishes served are plant-based, with locally grown ingredients, while the menus are developed by our students based on leftover food.

The food truck offers students the opportunity to gain operational experience during their education. Apart from learning how to manage a team, they will also learn how to prepare food for large groups or run a food truck, always with the United Nations’ SDGs in mind.

Creating meals for Ukrainian refugees
Over the past weeks, the food truck has already visited several events. The food truck team went to the Savoy hotel in Amsterdam and served meals to Ukrainian refugees.

Michelin Star Revelation
In light of the Michelin Star Revelation ceremony, which will take place on 30 May 2022, HTH collaborated with the organisation and organised a promotional event at the Michelin restaurant De Kas in collaboration with Bolemius as well. Streats was present and students planned and executed a great lunch in order to inspire the next generation of hospitality experts through a green culinary experience.
