Fast Track – Bachelor in Hospitality Management

Practical requirements

We welcome candidates who have completed a minimum of 16 weeks of practical / internship training (full time) as part of their latest education. This practical placement needs to be completed in a 4 or 5 star hotel.

Dutch applicants

We welcome applicants to our Fast Track Bachelor programme who have completed an MBO4 Horeca Ondernemer/Manager or similar and took one of the following subjects English, Entrepreneurial skills, Leadership skills or Numerical ability and received a final grade of 7 or higher as final grade. Proof of second modern language is also required.

International applicants

We welcome international applicants to our Fast Track Bachelor programme who have a secondary school diploma that qualifies them to attend a university in their own country, plus a diploma from a hospitality programme where they studied full-time for at least two years. Proof of second modern language is also required.

Please note that that the previous education and practical placements needs to be approved by hotelschool Exam comittee. If you meet the admissions requirements, you may be invited to take part in the Preparation course that takes place in the summer. After successful completion of the course, you will be admitted to the Fast Track Programme and you’ll then continue with the bachelor’s programme in August.

English levels

Both Dutch and International applicants must be proficient enough for higher education studies. Official English language exam scores are required for all non-native speakers – or those who haven’t spent the last two years in full-time English education. Please note that the Oxford English test administrated during Selection Day does not replace the official English Language requirement. An additional test (e.g TOEFL, Cambridge, IELTS) is still required.

Payment

If you have a SEPA bank account, you can give us permission for a direct debit payment to deduct the fees automatically from your bank account. This can be arranged via Studielink.

You can choose to pay your tuition fees in once, or in 10 instalments.

Tuition fee

As a student you will pay an annual tuition fee.
There are two different fees: the statutory fee and the institutional fee.
To be eligible for the statutory fee:

• You have an EEA, Swiss or Surinamese nationality/ or you are eligible for student finance with your Dutch residence permit
• You did not already obtain a Dutch Bachelor’s of Masters’s degree.

If you do not meet both conditions, you will pay the institutional fee.

The tuition fee for our bachelor programme is higher than usual in The Netherlands. Because Hotelschool The Hague offers small-scale and intensive education. This distinctive feature is given to us by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture & Science.

In addition to the tuition fees, there are other costs:

Student expenditure for practicals

There are additional costs for uniforms and a knife set.

Study books

Books can be bought from the school’s supplier. Other lesson materials consist mainly of a course guide that contains important information for each course, such as the number of EC’s it provides, who the lecturers are, etc. Workbooks and manuals provide additional reading material to supplement the books. These course materials are available free of charge after your start on the school’s intranet: www.myhotelschool.nl.

Holland Scholarship

The Holland Scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences. The scholarship is intended for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their bachelor's or master's in the Netherlands. EEA refers to EU countries plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. Nationals of Switzerland and Suriname are not eligible for this scholarship programme either.

Arnoud van Delft Scholarship

This scholarship is dedicated to Arnoud van Delft , founder of the Fast Track programme. The Arnoud van Delft scholarship is offered to the best Fast-track talent and is awarded annually. The selected Fast Track student will receive upfront credit for the costs of the Preparation course, which amount to €3,380.
