Primary entry requirements

• A Bachelor's degree (Dutch or international) in Hotel Management or a related field, such as Hospitality Management, Facility Management, Tourism Management, or Leisure & Events Management.

• Foreign Degree Equivalency: A foreign Bachelor's degree must be equivalent to at least a Dutch Professional Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Hotelschool The Hague may submit your academic records to Nuffic for evaluation and advice regarding your prior or current education. As per our policy, Nuffic's advice leads in the decision-making process.

• If you have not yet obtained your Bachelor’s degree at the time of application, you are asked to upload your most recent official grade list or academic transcript.
• English Language Requirements: sufficient results on one of these tests taken at a test centre only:
  • Cambridge English Qualification*: results (B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency), minimum total score of 169 and minimum subscore of 169 for speaking
  • IELTS*: Academic test: minimum overall band score of 6.0, and minimum subscore of 6.0 for speaking
  • TOEFL**: iBT test: minimum score of 80 internet-based, and minimum subscore of 20 for speaking
  • Pearson PTE* Academic test: minimum overall score of 61, and a minimum subscore of 61 for speaking
  • LanguageCert* Academic test: minimum total score of 65, and a minimum subscore of 65 for speaking

* IELTS Online certificates are not accepted.

** TOEFL MyBest Scores are not considered in the admissions procedure.

Exemptions from taking the English test

Candidates are exempted from proving proficiency in English if they:

• are a native speaker and have completed secondary education in one of the following countries: USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Canada (English speaking provinces/territories)
• have completed a Bachelor or a Master degree programme which was fully taught in English

Following the review of your application, you will receive one of the following outcomes:

1. Eligible: you will receive a conditional admission email with instructions on completing the next steps in the admission process.
2. Additional Requirements: you will be asked to submit a Recognition of Acquired Competences (RAC) Portfolio. A template and submission deadline will be provided as part of the application process.
3. Assessment Interview: you will be invited to attend an assessment interview and will receive an email with the scheduled date and time.
4. Not Eligible: you will receive an email detailing the reason for the rejection.

We employ qualitative selection criteria to evaluate candidates for the Leading Hotel Transformation MA programme. Hotelschool The Hague seeks students with a strong interest in hospitality, a commitment to pursuing a career in the hotel industry and the ability to demonstrate leadership potential.

To succeed in our programme, the following skills are crucial, and which will be carefully evaluated during the admission process:

Tuition fees for EEA students

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science determines the tuition fees for government educational programmes in the Netherlands. For the 2027-2028 academic year, the tuition fee for EEA nationals is €2,771.

Tuition fees for non-EEA applicants

The tuition fee for non-EEA nationals (including UK nationals until further notice) is €16,201 per academic year. Note that non-EEA nationals also need to take other costs and procedures into consideration. Please consult the cost overview document for more details.

We estimate the additional cost for books and hard copy materials to be approximately €500. We advise students to find housing in Amsterdam. HTH does not offer housing however, upon acceptance, we are happy to advise and support.
