Developing robots for hotels
Robots differ from humans in several ways. Where humans have jobs that consist of a number of tasks, robots are designed for single tasks. When developing hospitality robots, it is therefore important to adopt this task perspective. Looking for tasks that are mundane or repetitive which can easily be automated ensures that the next hospitality robot can help to solve the current problems of the hospitality industry. In our new collaboration with the Delft University of Technology and Robohouse, Hotelschool The Hague will also get into developing new robots for automating the tasks that were identified as crucial to automate. These new robots we can then test at our Skotel. In these test phases, we also collaborate with students. By doing this, the future leaders of the world of hospitality will get an early connection with technology that they can bring into their future jobs.
