IN2FOOD - Interdisciplinary Approach Towards Fostering Collaborative Innovation in Food Waste Management.

As part of our work and publications on food waste, we were invited to become a partner in an Erasmus+ capacity building consortium in 2020. The IN2FOOD consortium consists of eight partners, three European and 5 Indonesian partners. Titled “Resolving A Societal Challenge: Interdisciplinary Approach Towards Fostering Collaborative Innovation in Food Waste Management”, it is a capacity-building project aimed to enhance the capability of Indonesian universities to deal with food waste issues in Indonesia through education and research promoting interdisciplinary and collaborative innovation.

There are several work packages in this project and HTH is responsible for work package (WP) 3. This entails co-curricular activities and more specifically to arrange an interdisciplinary summer school and a student competition. The IN2FOOD summer school “food Waste To Finish” (fWTF) took place in the summer of 2022 on Bali, Indonesia. An impression of the fWTF summer can be found here. The student competition takes place in February 2023 in cooperation with Marriott International. For both activities, we grant student scholarships to HTH students participate in these activities. There are also educational and research related projects connected with IN2FOOD. In particular, ‘train the trainer’ sessions, student lectures & workshops, and the establishment of an interdisciplinary research center.
