The Sustainability Committee

At Hotelschool The Hague, sustainability is more than a topic of discussion, it’s part of everyday life. The HTH Sustainability Committee brings together a passionate group of over 35 international students committed to making a positive impact on both the planet and society. Acting as ambassadors of sustainable hospitality, the committee works each semester on new projects that engage the entire student community and strengthen HTH’s environmental ambitions.

Every semester, students organise and participate in a wide range of initiatives that encourage responsible behaviour and collective action. Projects such as beach cleanups in Scheveningen and closet sales for second-hand clothing inspire students to think critically about waste, consumption, and their individual impact.

Ongoing projects and student Initiatives

Beehives were installed around campus to promote biodiversity
We have improved our waste separation and recycling systems
Disposable coffee cups are not available anymore, everyone brings their own reusable cup.
Regular beach clean ups

Through these projects, the committee empowers students to adopt sustainable habits and influence positive change across all aspects of campus life.

Sustainability at Hotelschool The Hague isn’t just an ambition, it’s a daily practice. From the classrooms to the campus design, from student projects to community outreach, the Sustainability Committee plays a central role in ensuring that HTH remains a leader in shaping the future of green hospitality.
