Lucky 13: Hotelschool The Hague named best public hospitality management school in Keuzegids 2027

In the newly published Keuzegids HBO 2027, Hotelschool The Hague has once more been ranked the best public institution offering a hospitality management bachelor's programme in the Netherlands. The Amsterdam campus scored 86/100, earning five stars, and The Hague campus scored 84/100 with four and a half stars. Together, our two campuses hold the number one and number two positions nationwide.

Our campuses keep each other sharp. Last year The Hague took first place; this year Amsterdam returns the favour. Whichever comes out on top, the outcome for students is the same: a top-rated programme in either city.

This is the thirteenth consecutive year that Hotelschool The Hague has held this position. Thirteen may be an unlucky number for some, but for us it is proving to be a lucky one.

Top Rated Programme quality seal

Both campuses have again earned the "Top Rated Programme" (Topopleiding) quality seal, awarded to programmes that score over 75 points in the Keuzegids.

"Thirteen years in a row is not down to luck. It is the work of colleagues on both campuses who put students first every day, and of students who tell us honestly, through the National Student Survey, what works and what could be better. That Amsterdam and The Hague take turns at the top says it all: wherever you study with us, you get the same quality and the same community."

Jos Vranken, President of the Board of Directors Hotelschool The Hague

"You don't wait until graduation to build your network here. From my first year onwards, I've been working with industry professionals who inspire me, and those relationships are shaping my career today."

Rasmus Boogaard, third-year student, Amsterdam campus

A strong start and a strong finish

Hotelschool The Hague achieved top scores on two key indicators of study success: progression to the second year and graduating within five years. In other words, students who start with us tend to stay, and they finish.

That starts in the first year. Students get a clear picture of what the programme and the hospitality industry ask of them, combined with close, personal guidance from Study Coaches and lecturers. With that foundation in place, they move through the programme with confidence, and the vast majority graduate on time.

Ready for a career in hospitality and beyond

Students also rated the programme highly for how well it prepares them for their future careers. Two internships, projects with industry partners and a strong alumni network mean that students build real-world experience and connections long before they graduate. Our close ties with the Dutch and international hospitality industry keep the curriculum aligned with what employers need today and tomorrow.

Recognised worldwide

The Keuzegids result follows earlier international recognition this year. In the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, Hotelschool The Hague rose two places to 7th in the world for Hospitality and Leisure Management, and remains number one in the Netherlands. Employers agree with our students: the school scored 85.4/100 on Employer Reputation. Read more about the QS ranking.
