Alexander Kluit
Over the years, I have had the privilege of leading in various roles at renowned hotel chains. My journey began with roles in food and beverage management and quickly progressed to general management positions, gaining extensive experience in operations and strategic leadership.
I am currently Managing Director for Leonardo Hotels in the Benelux, a role I have held since September 2018. This role allows me to oversee multiple hotel properties while driving growth, innovation and exceptional guest experiences. In August this year, Leonardo Hotels successfully completed the acquisition of the 12 Eden hotels in the Netherlands and the Zien group. The integrating of this portfolio within the Leonardo Hotels Benelux structure is currently take place. Ultimately this leads into a new portfolio of 29 hotels (11 in Amsterdam) and 4200 rooms with over 1200 colleagues.
In addition to my operational role, I also contribute to the future of hospitality education as a member of the Industry Advisory Board at Hotelschool The Hague and as an external assessor at Buas Breda, which aligns with my passion to nurture new talent in the industry.
Prior to my current role, I was Area General Manager for Apollo Hotels & Resorts, managing across multiple properties with various franchise brands, ensuring high service standards and operational efficiency. I have also held key leadership roles at Hilton, IHG, Scandic and Compass Group, where I led rebranding efforts and managed hotel portfolios in highly competitive markets.
With over two decades of experience, including board membership for HBS/ECHOS-Homes and Amsterdam&Partners, I have developed a versatile skill set in hospitality management, strategic planning and team leadership. I am driven by the challenge of adapting to a rapidly changing industry and finding innovative solutions that improve both operational excellence and guest satisfaction.
